Whether I’m camping out of my old Toyota RAV4 through the Canadian backcountry or exploring new cultures during the off-season, I travel light, live simply, and follow my curiosity wherever it leads.
I created this channel to inspire people over 50 (and anybody else who needs a little push) to step outside the ordinary and follow the trackless path. You’ll find nature, solitude, stories, and plenty of practical tips along the way.
What You’ll Find on My Channel
My videos are personal, real, and down-to-earth – a mix of storytelling, practical advice, and honest reflection from life on the road.
🍁 Canadian Backcountry Travel
I explore forest roads, hidden lakes, and wild places that most people overlook. I often camp for free in remote areas of Canada, and share car camping tips based on years of solo travel in my old Toyota RAV4.
🌿 Simple Living on the Road
Minimalist travel isn’t just a trend; it’s how I live. You’ll find ideas for living simply, staying safe as a solo traveller, and adapting to life on the move.
🌎 Winter Escapes Abroad
When Canadian winters set in, I often head south or overseas. From the jungles of the Amazon and vibrant towns in Mexico to the mountains of the Balkans and my roots in Switzerland, I travel light and dive deep into everyday local life.
💬 Personal Reflections
I talk honestly about aging, freedom, solitude, and the joys and challenges of living differently – with stories shaped by my Swiss-Canadian background and independent spirit. Read more about me here.
Some of the links above lead to related blog posts on my website for those who prefer reading or want more details.
I post both longer travel story videos (10 minutes or more) and shorter clips. So whether you’re looking to relax with a full video or catch a quick travel moment, there’s something for you.
Why “Trackless Lady Dee”?
For years, many of you have followed my Backcountry Canada Travel blog and newsletter (Backcountry News). “Trackless Lady Dee” is my new creative outlet, a way to bring these stories to life through video. You’ll still see Canadian content, but now with moving images, voice, and a more personal look behind the scenes.
My channel’s name, Trackless Lady Dee, reflects my love for travelling: off the beaten path, following curiosity instead of a schedule, and discovering beauty in unexpected places.
